Wrapping Up the Pokemon League Cup Weekend

Another weekend on the road to the Pokemon TCG World Championships has come to an end, and Team Norse Thunder are celebrating a successful one.

The team's recently announced newly created Pokemon TCG division lead Karys Belfield to join, and this weekend was a massive step towards world's qualification.

Saturday 4th January saw Karys head to Nottingham to take part in The Dice Cup's League Cup. Piloting a PikaRom build, she battled to a third-place finish in the Senior's division in a meta clearly unfavourable to the deck.

The 45-mile round trip over to the East Midlands brought home 32 Championship Points and was the perfect way to get 2020 underway!

The following day saw Karys head to Worcester Toys and Games' League Cup. With a Slowpoke & Pysduck GX deck in hand, Karys fought to a 5th place finish to bank another handful of qualification points.

After the weekend's results had been tallied from across Europe, it leaves Karys in 109th position in the European Rankings with 160 Championship points - well on the way to qualification.
