Thunder Rolling into Clash Event

League of Legends Champion - LuLu

Team Norse Thunder’s new look League of Legends program will take a giant step forward this weekend as two Thunder rosters do battle in the latest instalment of the Clash event series.

Thunder recently expanded its League of Legends program from one roster to two and brought in additional players on trial to bolster the lineups. Meanwhile, a new-look coaching staff is set to be announced publicly in the near future.

The latest Clash event will bring together teams from across Europe to compete for the Ionia Cup. The three match, eight bracket tournament will run over the weekend of the 5th and 6th of March.

2021 saw Thunder rosters earn two Clash trophies, but they have narrowly missed out on adding to that total in the two events held so far in 2022 having finished in 3rd and 4th place respectively.

Speaking about the upcoming Clash event, and Thunder’s League of Legends program, Dave Scotford said: “Change isn’t always easy, and the set-up has gone through a fair few changes over the last couple of weeks. We’re growing quite quickly and that means we’re now home for two rosters rather than one - I’m excited about the path ahead.

“The players that have come in on trial with us have done really well… there’s some really good people getting involved and that’s a huge compliment to what we’re doing at an org level and within the rosters. People that see what we do and want to get involved is always a compliment.

“We’re making some really good progress with our program and now it’s about going into Clash, enjoying it, and seeing how we get on. That’ll give us a really good indication of where we’re at and what we need to do to get to the next step.”
