FIFA Esports Gaming

Team Norse Thunder have reclaimed the EUW Premier League title after two back-to-back third-place finishes in the previous editions of the tournament.

Now in its 10th run, the EUW Premier League brings together players from across the UK and Europe to compete. 16 high-ranking players take part in regular knockout-style tournaments to crown a winner.

Representing Team Norse Thunder was Dave Scotford, who faced up against BrentfordFC in the opening round of the latest EUW Premier League tournament. He ran out as a 48-0 winner, a result that put him comfortably into the quarter-finals. The quarter-final was a 69-0 win over Karys before a 3-0 walkover win was awarded against Slavbedroy in the semi-final.

A league newcomer, Lor3ng4m3r, awaited Dave in the final after they won their round one match 68-0, their quarter-final 39-0, and were also awarded a walkover win in their semi-final. However, an assured performance saw Dave win handsomely the final with a score of 66-36.

Dave’s team for the competition was: Pope (GK), Cole (LB), Smalling (CB), Coady (CB), Alexander-Arnold (RB), Milner (CM), Henderson (CM), Mount (CAM), Barnes (LW), Beckham (RW) and Wright (ST). Meanwhile, on the bench were Oblak (GK), Sessegnon (LB), Worrall (CB), Noble (CDM), Gerrard (CM), Maddison (CAM) and Akinfenwa (ST).

Speaking about his victory, Team Norse Thunder’s Dave Scotford said: “I think I talked about needing a bit of luck to go and reclaim the title after the last one finished, and I think I got that this time around. I didn’t have to face the league’s highest player this time around so that went in my favour.

“I’m still loving the squad that I’ve got, but I'm going to be making a couple of changes before the next tournament. The team's pretty much there but I'm excited about what I'm planning!”
