Seventh European FIFA Crown for Thunder
Team Norse Thunder are celebrating after lifting their seventh EUW Premier League trophy of the year while also making it three back-to-back championships.
Dave Scotford, who represents the team in FIFA Mobile, is currently the second-highest-ranked player in the EUW Premier League. The EUWPL brings together players from across the continent to compete on a regular basis and 15 editions of the tournament have taken place in 2022. The seven titles won by Thunder make the organisation the most decorated in the league.
23 players entered the latest instalment of the EUWPL, and round one saw Dave with a bye round and so he sailed directly into round two. Belgica - a newcomer to the league - awaited him, but Dave secured a 33-6 victory to earn a spot in the quarter-final.
The quarter-final saw Dave earn a 41-0 win over Sokratis before a 30-24 win over Lor3ng4m3r in the semi-final. The semi-final win over the league’s highest-ranked player put Dave into the final, and another league newcomer awaited: Fcjozo. The final was a one-sided affair though with Dave scoring 30 goals without reply.
Dave’s starting 11 players during the tournament were Henderson (GK), Cole (LB), Bassey (CB), Smalling (CB), Alexander-Arnold (RB), Henderson (CM), Milner (CM), Mount (CAM), Sancho (RW), Kent (LW), and Lineker (ST).
Meanwhile, the subs bench was made up of Pope (GK), Chalobah (CB), Coady (CB), Herrera (CM), Beckham (RW), Gotze (CAM), and Akinfenwa (ST).
Speaking about his run of victories, Dave said: “There are some really, really good players in the league and they’re all playing with good lineups. So to win three in a row at this stage of the competition is pretty huge and I’m obviously happy with where I’m at and how I’ve been playing.
“I’ve been making some changes to my line up and step by step I’m getting it pretty close to where I’m at the ceiling of what I want it to look like. The end of the season is coming up so that’s a bit of a shame, but I’ll figure something new out when the new season gets underway.
“Since the win I’ve made a change at centre back and made a change to the subs bench for the goalkeeper too, so if I can sort the left or right back situation out before the next tournament, I’ll be really happy. I started the season pretty late on so I’ll probably be making moves in the market right up until the end.”
