Max Ward Appointed as Thunder Head Coach
Team Norse Thunder have today unveiled Max Ward as the team’s new League of Legends Head Coach after a highly successful trial period comes to an end.
Max, who has previously coached at UKEL level with NerdRage Pro and Hyve Central, joins Thunder on a one year contract that will see him leading the team's League of Legends roster.
Max has been overseeing a Thunder roster who have been quickly developing under his leadership and who have gone on to achieve impressive results in recent Clash competitions.
Speaking about his appointment as the team’s new Head Coach, Max said: "This is a good opportunity to better myself [as a coach], but to also get in on the ground floor of a team that has real talent - it's all about building the project.
"It's always hard to say exactly how far a team can go, but the players are improving quickly and there's a nice atmosphere, so there's no reason why they couldn't progress to leagues at UKEL level."
Meanwhile, Team Norse Thunder’s Dave Scotford said: "Max has been with us a little while now working behind the scenes so it’s exciting to finally get him properly announced as our new Head Coach.
"He's got fantastic coaching experience on the CV and we've already seen the team taking huge steps forward as their game improves with his support - that has been brilliant to watch.
"I've always said our League team has huge potential so adding Max to the backroom staff is going to be a big part of us releasing that potential. We can't wait to see it all unfold!"
